Where We Started

Urgent Care for Kids was founded in Austin, Texas in 2011 by healthcare innovators Brian White and Kevin Pearce. After seeing firsthand the lack of after-hours pediatric care in their community, they set out to build something different: a healthcare experience designed around children, and around the realities parents face every day.

On November 1, 2011, the first Urgent Care for Kids clinic opened its doors in Keller, Texas — offering pediatric-focused urgent care in a welcoming, kid-friendly environment with extended hours and no appointments needed.

In April 2024, we launched primary care services at our Alliance and Mansfield clinics — strengthening our role as a trusted partner for everyday and preventive healthcare needs. And in July 2024, Urgent Care for Kids achieved a major milestone:

With the acquisition of 11 clinics previously operated by Pediatrix Medical Group and NightLight Pediatrics, Urgent Care for Kids became the largest provider of pediatric urgent care services across the Houston metro.

Today, with 23 clinics statewide — and a growing range of services — Urgent Care for Kids leads the way in delivering accessible, high-quality pediatric care for families across Texas.
