Hello! My name is Linda Chhay, and I have been a pediatric nurse practitioner for 10 years. I earned both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees from The University of Texas at Austin. My journey in medicine has always been in pediatrics. My career spans from being a CNA to an RN at Dell Children’s Medical Center, then moving to Houston as I began my career as an NP. I love seeing my little patients smile. Kids are always so resilient, even the really sick ones — they always find positivity in life, and I think we can all take a lesson from that.
My practice areas include general primary care pediatrics – both in urban and rural settings, urgent care pediatrics, high-risk NICU infants post-discharge, developmental-behavioral medicine, neurology, and academia as an RN instructor. The well-being of your whole child: physically, mentally, emotionally, and developmentally is what drives my investment into this career.
My parents are first-generation to this wonderful nation. As a child, I remember having to translate for my mother due to limited English proficiency, and the difficulties this posed in managing the healthcare system. I have a special place in my heart for making sure my patients and families have a full understanding prior to leaving the exam room. I lived in Los Angeles until I was nine years old, then moved to Lufkin, TX, studied in Austin, TX, and now I call Richmond, TX home for my family. I have one son and one daughter who are my greatest achievements.
