When your child is a picky eater, it can be difficult to ensure they’ll receive proper nutrition on a daily basis. Smoothies can quickly become a go-to solution for Mom’s and Dad’s who are hoping to sneak a few greens into something their child will actually enjoy! Today, we’re sharing a few tips to make the perfect kid-friendly smoothie.
- It’s always best to start with the vegetables that you’d like to add. Things such as spinach, kale, sprouts, celery, or red leaf lettuce are great starters. These veggies not only blend well, but they’re also relatively easy to mask.
- Next, add in fruit to ensure that the smoothie actually tastes good. You can use fruits such as blueberries, bananas, dates, mango, pineapple, strawberries, and peaches. Ultimately, use fruits that you know your child enjoys.
- For an added boost, you can also add in healthy fats such as avocado, chia seeds, or a nut butter.
We recommend trying a few different combinations to find the perfect blend for you kids. Continue to mix it up from time to time to allow your child to get a variety of nutrients. However you choose to help your children stay well-nourished, make sure that you get them involved. Keeping kids involved in the kitchen can be enjoyable for everyone, so include them in washing the fruit and vegetables, or allow your child to pick out the fruits that will go into their smoothie.
