Urgent Care for Kids is keeping the nightlight on at its location in The Woodlands.
The pediatric care facility that began two years ago in the Dallas-Fort Worth area has also moved its company headquarters to the neighborhood.
Brian White, CEO of Urgent Care for Kids, was working in healthcare real estate development, when he noticed pediatric urgent care facilities were opening around Dallas.
“I thought it was a great practice,” White said. “It’s filling a niche. It’s easy, convenient and you don’t have to make an appointment.”
White said that before, children only had two options for urgent care. First, they could go to an urgent care facility planned for adults.
“Almost never do they have a pediatrician,” he said. “It’s always doctors for adults.”
The other option would be the emergency room.
“And they are super expensive,” he said. “There was a huge lack of supply for this type of service.”
