Hello, I’m Dr. Nguyen!

Hello, I’m Dr. Nguyen!
October 16, 2015 Melissa Bauman

We are so excited to introduce a new series where you’ll be able to learn more about each of our our providers. To kick off the series, we sat down with one of our amazing Austin-area physicians, Dr. Nguyen. Dr. Nguyen rotates between three of our locations (Cedar Park, East Round Rock, and West Round Rock) and he has received rave reviews from both our patients and their families since coming on staff.

Q: Dr. Nguyen, tell us a little bit about yourself and your experience.

A: Sometimes the medical world just treats kids like they are small versions of adults but we all know that is so far from the truth in many ways. It really takes a very unique approach in taking care of them so not to appear as the boogie man in a white coat. Patience, compassion, being approachable, and even more patience are essential. I am a graduate of Texas Tech School of Medicine and I completed my pediatric training at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. My experience includes Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital, Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital, and M.D. Anderson. I’m always here for you and your child/children any day and at any time!

Q: Why did you choose to specialize in pediatrics?

A: I have probably been asked this a billion times and every time I am pretty sure I have come up with a different answer. In all honesty, Life just directed me to this path, I really have no explanation to it besides the heavens and cosmos beautifully orchestrating it all. At the same time the care and well being of kids have always resided in my soul and I know it resided in my Grandmothers.

Q: Why did you choose to work at Urgent Care for Kids?

A: Everyone shares the same passion in seeing the kiddos smile and aiming hard to get them feeling better.

Q: What is your favorite thing about living in Austin?

There is so much about Austin to love. My favorite thing is that the heart beat of Austin is filled with so much music. You can go see blues, rock, soul, punk, and even jazz. Its definitely not all country music in the Live Music Capital of the World.

Q: What is one thing about you that people may not know?

A: I love jazz music and one of my things to do on a day off is to go out and find/buy an used jazz record.

We hope you enjoy learning more about each of the wonderful providers we have on staff at Urgent Care for Kids. We carefully select each and every team member at UC4K and we love telling you about them. If you or your family was seen by one of our amazing team members, we would love to hear about it in the comments below.
