Independence Day is right around the corner! The Fourth of July seems to have a common theme of the 3 “F’s”:

Food, Fun, and Fireworks

This is a holiday filled with lots of outdoor activities including parades, swimming, barbecuing, and lighting fireworks.

The Urgent Care for Kids want you to be EXTRA safe if you choose to use fireworks during the holiday weekend, so check out a few Firework Safety Tips, from the National Council on Firework Safety:

1- Check and obey all local laws regarding the use of fireworks

2- Read the caustionary labels and performance descriptions before igniting

3- A responsible adult should be supervising all firework activity at all times

4- Light one firework at a time and then quickly move away

5- Use fireworks only outdoors and in a clear and open are

6- Always have a bucket of water or a hose nearby

7- Dispose of fireworks by wetting them down and placing them in a metal trash can away from any building or combustible materials
