Urgent Care for Kids is seeking full- time office managers for our locations across Texas. This individual should be a very personable, “hands on” and customer service driven leader. Clinical shifts and some weekend shifts are required.

Qualifications:

Clinical:

  • Triaging
  • Recognizing abnormal pediatric vitals
  • Lab specimen collection and processing
  • Nebulizer treatments
  • Catheterization
  • Splinting
  • Assisting in laceration repair
  • Injections
  • Medication administration

Front Office:

  • Patient registration/ Scheduling
  • Insurance verification
  • Knowledge of insurance benefits and how to explain those to patients
  • Customer service
  • Phone etiquette

Management:

  • Staff scheduling
  • Supply inventory/Ordering
  • Training of incoming staff
  • Safety Officer/Compliance duties relating to the healthcare field
  • Up to date knowledge of medical and compliance laws/HIPAA
  • Knowledge of HR practices, including proper hiring and termination processes
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to multi task
  • Solid team leader
  • Clear/Effective communication skills

Requirements:

  • 1 year of recent pediatric back office experience, along with a minimum of 3 years of clinical experience.
  • Must have current MA, LP, LVN, or RN certification or licensure.
  • Up to date BLS or PALS
  • Medical office management experience desired
  • NCT certification and knowledge of X-Ray positioning a plus

Are you a highly self-motivated Medical Assistant and looking to grow within a Pediatric Urgent Care? Well, Urgent Care for Kids is the team for you.

Urgent Care for Kids currently has 8 locations across Texas and is rapidly growing. We are driven to provide excellent patient care and customer service. Urgent Care for Kids will professionally train you in back office clinical skills, as well as train you to be proficient in radiology positioning techniques along with the front desk. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Triage patients, assess urgency status and prioritize care
  • Communicate with the provider that the patient is ready and give a brief verbalization of symptoms and abnormal vitals
  • Assist provider in procedures and patient care
  • Administer and document medication as directed by the provider
  • Prepare, clean, and maintain exam and treatment rooms
  • Obtain labs and call back patients when lab results are in
  • Provider patient education at the end of the visit and answer any follow up questions
  • Position patients for radiology procedures and remove all artifacts (training provided by UC4K)
  • Front office responsibilities & procedures
  • Perform other related work as needed

Qualifications

  • Pediatric Office, Pediatric Hospital, or Urgent Care within the past 3 years and lasted at least 6+ months
  • MA certified (CMA, NCMA, RMA)
  • CPR certification required
  • Knowledge of HIPPA, OSHA, basic clinical procedures, CLIA-Waived Testing, EMR software
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite and able to type at least 60 WPM
  • Work in a fast-pace environment
  • Be able to handle multi-tasking

Hours of Operation:

  • Monday through Friday 12:00pm – 9:00pm
  • Saturday and Sunday 9:00am – 9:00pm

Work Environment:

The work of this position is performed in an environmentally controlled office. The position requires the ability to work under pressure and with a diverse population, including staff, providers, patients, families, and other members of the public on a regular basis. This position may cause frequent exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, toxic substances, radiation, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinical environment.
